Re: Honda Accord CD Player
I have the single CD player too. The formats I'm using are fine.. I owned
a 97 Civic prior to this car, and only had luck playing burnt cds with Azo
Dye Technology (blue). But with this Accord, nothing I have works.
I'm using FujiFilm 52x CDRs and Verbatim 52x CDRs. The FujiFilm plays, but
takes forever to see the disc, especially when switching tracks. The
Verbatim discs are spit out by the CD player almost immediately...it can't
read them at all.
Brian, what brand and dye technology blank CDs are you using?

Well, FujiFilm and Verbatim media certainly is top quality. Speculation:
often burners require updated firmware to be able to recognize the
newest media, which 52x is, but I don't know whether that is also true
of CD readers once the CD is successfully burned. I don't imagine that
its possible to update FW in an in-dash player, but it might be worth
looking for older media.

Re: Honda Accord CD Player
Are you Burning MP3 formated music. I don't think Honda Stereos can
play MP3 however I have seen Car Stereos marked MP3 compatible.
Go to Honda OwnerLink, give them your car's VIN number and read the
owner's manual for your car. That will tell you about the stereo.

Re: Honda Accord CD Player
I figured it out! The CD player had problems reading blank CDs that only
had a thin silver foil as the top part of the CD. I suppose the CD player
couldn't reflect the laser enough for it to read it well.
Using blank CDs with a thicker white top label does the trick, regardless of
the dye technology. Even placing a white cd sticker label did the trick on
my current CDs.
Good FYI for those who may have problems in the future.

Good FYI for those who may have problems in the future.

interesting tidbit...
i also learned (the hard way)that scions w/ the factory pioneer stereo
DONT like paper labels... the tolerances are too tight, and the cd
doesnt want to come out
