Some of the new base oils are "Type II" or "Type III" - AKA "hydroisomerized"
or "hydrocracked" petroleum oil. There's been some controversy over
Castrol NA changing their motor oil from mostly PAO (Type IV) to a Type III
base oil, and marketing it as "synthetic".

Texaco Havoline motor oil was labelled as "Type II" during the Shell/Texaco
joint venture (Equilon). Chevron called their base oil IsoSyn, which is a Type
II base oil they used in Chevron Surpreme and Delo motor oils. I believe
Chevron also patented the process. Since the Chevron/Texaco merger, they
likely use the same formula in different color bottles.

The 2000 Accord still calls for 5w-30, so most any brand should be
available in that weight.
