drove new honda civic 2003 lx w/parking brake on - damages?
I forgot about it until 4 blocks later and notice the brake light was on.
I was going around 25-30mph.the car manual said it can damage the rear
brakes and axles. Are there any damages to be concerned?

it shouldn't cause any problems, it may have worn your rear breaks alittle,
but not much. I wouldn't worry about it

To put your mind at ease, I used to own a 1992 Accord LX. I was living with
my parents at the time and my mother would use the car every once in a
while. She does not set the parking brake on any cars she drives. I always
set the parking brake. Needless to say whenever she got in the car she was
not in the habit of releasing the parking brake. Many times she has driven
a half mile or so until she finally realized it. Well, my sister currently
drives the car with about 250k miles on it. There has never been any
problems with the rear axles, and the brakes didn't even wear out sooner.

Re: drove new honda civic 2003 lx w/parking brake on - damages?
Oh...Pal...have no fear. I have a 91 Civic EX with 288K miles on it. I am
a salesman and am on the road a lot. I have 2 teenage daughters who both
learnt on the Civic and they have been driving it the last couple of years.
The car has had it's brake up everytime my older daughter gets in. She
wants to blast the stereo, chew gum, fiddle w/makeup (inspite of my wife's
threats !!), think about using the cell phone to call (against MY THREATS
!!) but NOT ONCE LOOK TO SEE ON THE DASH, IF THE BRAKE LIGHT IS ON when the
brake lever is up.
I must say I have had the rear brakes changed once. The Civic is the BEST
CAR IN THE WORLD...you just can't kill it. The rear brake I must say has
probably been up about 5K of the 288K miles this car has.
I hope this helps. But your 2003 Civic should be a great car for a long
time.

4 blocks wouldn't be enough to get them hot enough to do damage. They should
be fine. If they were glowing red, or you could smell them burning, you
might have something to worry about.
