Catback vs Flowmaster for Civic Sedan EX 1998
Hey Guys
Father time has caught up with my exhaust system(Hole in muffer).
So I might as well do the upgrade on the exhaust system. I see Catback
all over the place, but I was looking at the Flowmaster system also.
Anyone with info on these two systems??
Thanks

Re: Catback vs Flowmaster for Civic Sedan EX 1998
Catback is any type of exhaust system that runs new piping from the
catalytic converter back. Axle back or rear section systems usually just
replace the muffler and a little of the piping behind the rear axle.
Flowmaster is a specific manufacturer of exhaust systems. I would suggest
looking into DC sports, HKS, and APEXi systems.

Re: Catback vs Flowmaster for Civic Sedan EX 1998
There are high performance catalytic converters out on the market. Although
i've heard they make the car sound very "ratty" (the turbo charged weed
wacker sound). Another good site would be nopi.com or just pick up an issue
of a riceboy magazine. Lots of ideas in there. What about sound levels and
looks of the exhaust? Keep that in mind too as most of the exhausts are much
louder than stock (you can use a silencer for most though)

I saw full stainless steel cat-back systems on hondasolutions.com for
only $300 shipped... I am thinking of getting it for my 99 Si after I
can scrape up some bones.
