Re: Anyone want to donate a transmission?
heh, good luck with that... I dont know where you'll be able to find
something like that now.
On the other hand, if you want to consider a change of vehicule, my friend
is selling a 92' pontiac lemans auto.
Problems with car :
- driver's door was "tampered with", missing door handle
- driver's door internal cover was removed
(u can see the metal)
- speedometer disconnected since last repair
- hand break cut (it's an auto, so u can use park position)
- some rust (not too much tho)
I think there's around 170 000 kms on it, but could be more, under 200 000
for sure.
Overall the car is not in that bad a shape, the engine never had problems,
transmission replaced a few years ago.
To be honest with you, from what my friend was telling me, the biggest
annoyance with the car is once in a while, the electrical system just
decides not to work (i.e. car just wont start, or will stop).... then some
times later it works just fine. Probably bad isolation in wires.
The funniest thing is that since there's no driver door handle (it can be
replaced fairly simply, but i guess he didnt want to dish out any more money
for the car), he has to come in thru the passenger side... pretty ghetto.
I think he realized to get rid of it the last time he was getting in the car
(thru passenger door) and got the shifter stuck up his *** again as he was
crossing over to the driver's side.... not a pretty sight.
I dont think he'll ask for much, if it didnt have the door problem it could
go for more, but as it is, u can probably get it for 200-250 (US). If u
plan to drive your gf in it tho.... all i can tell u is that she better like
you for you
peace out
