Whatever you do, whether you buy from a catalog, web site, or store, go and
listen to a few speakers and decide for yourself what sounds good. A few
years ago I was all set to buy some speakers recommended by Crutchfield
until I went to a store and listened to them. To my ears they sounded dull
and lifeless. Now there could have been several variables affecting their
sound such as the amp, deck, and speaker enclosure, however, I wound up with
a different set of speakers that sound all right to me and were about the
same cost as the ones recommended by Crutchfield. In the end, your ears are
the ones that matter.
