Accord Radiator
The work never ends! I pressure tested my radiator over the weekend and
sure enough it is leaking along the top seam. I really can't afford a $350
OEM radiator from Honda. I know I will probably get bashed for even
considering otherwise, but what does the group think of these?

You can also go to any auto parts place (NAPA, UAP, AutoZone, FLAPS,
Canadian Tire, etc) and get a decent aftermarket rad for well under than
$200.
I'm using a Visteon dual-core right now in my Integra. It was $169 Cdn. The
OEM single-core was $400.
I don't know why the dealers charge such insane prices for their OEM rads.

I am very fortunate to have a radiator repair shop nearby (Bridgeport,
CT) and they did a very good job resealing a radiator for a Saab I had.
It leaked along a seam and it was good as new when I got it back.
You may want to check the yellow pages in your area.

city or town. Visit all of them and get free estimates on how much it
would cost for them to sell and install an after market radiator in your
car. If you know how to do the work yourself, ask them how much it would
cost to buy an after market radiator from them. In addition, if you know
how to do the work yourself, visit auto parts stores like NAPA and
AutoZone and ask them how much it would cost to buy a after market
radiator and related parts.

I used performanceradiator.com and went down the street (Seattle, WA) to
pick it up myself. They ship all over though I believe. It was only about
$130 for my 96 Accord. I put in on a year ago and 16k miles no problems so
far. It was painted all nice and glossy black like the original and even
came with a new radiator cap and new fittings.

repair shop. I think they welded it.
I know someone who put some sort of stop leak in their radiator. It
worked. But the mechanic warned the individual that it would narrow
the passages inside the radiator and cause it to be less effective.
