accord 01 goes forward instead of turning right
Hello all,
I've got a honda accord LX 01 with about 60K miles on it. I've had
this issue happen twice in the last few months so i'd like to get your
opinion.
I was driving on a two lane street and the pavement was a bit wet this
morning, but it was not raining hard. As I attempted to brake to make
a right turn, the accord went straight instead and didn't turn right!
A few weeks ago, I replaced my previous tires with a brand new set of
Goodrich T/A tires.
I also had this problem several months ago and thought it might have
been the tires, but now it happened with new tires.
The brakes seem ok otherwise and have not made the squealing noise
yet. They were replaced about 3 yrs ago.
Any thoughts?

The front wheels are not turning as soon as you put on the brakes. If they
aren't turning, you can't steer. In other words, its skidding on the wet
road. Bottom line is you are coming into the turn too fast for conditions.
If you have ABS, it should release the brakes for a revolution several times
per second allowing you to steer, but this only works as long as you keep
pressure on the brakes. If you don't have ABS, you have to pump & the
brakes. Just remember it won't steer as long as the wheels are not
revolving.

That's an easy one. Obammy pushed through some stealth auto "safety"
regulations that prevent anyone from heading to the right.
If you tried the same thing but with a left turn, she's slide around that
corner slick as if she was on rails...

during a dry spell,oil builds up on the roads,and the first time it
sprinkles,the water and oil make for a very slippery surface(like
ice),until the rain and traffic wash most of it away.
There are a lot of accidents caused by people unaware of this.

I've got TA's on my 99 Accord, same basic car, and have noticed similar
problems on freshly-rained-on roads, wet leaves, and even self-adhesive
stop sign stripes. Noticed the same thing in my Dodge minivan, also with
TA's. Good grippy tires, even rated as M&S for some reason, but the
rubber compound doesn't seem to grip well on slippery surfaces. Does
surprisingly well in snow, though.

I've had good tires slip on those stop stripes too.
