Re: 98 civic doesnt start, doesnt crank weather below 15F
heres more info..the cooling system is 50/50. All the warning lights turn
on then turn off when they're supposed to when the ignition is at II. When
I turn the key to III nothing happens. The starter doesn't make a sound.
The only sound I do hear is a deep poping noise coming from the speakers
about every 30 seconds that the key is in III position. oh and the clutch
is crushed to the floor. And good ol'stick does allow me to push start the
car in this situation. Hey Michael, in reference to the ignition, there was
a recall on it in 2002, but that was because the car would turn off while
you were driving it. I made an appointment with honda to replace the
ignition on monday free of charge due to the recall. Now im gonna try the
hairdryer trick as soon as i can find the really big x-tension cord. My
question is- Is Honda going to replace the part of the ignition that might
be failing due to the weather or should i ask them to change the whole
thing. I know am i being really cheap but im getting married in 2 months
and shes bleeding me dry.
