98 Accord V6 3.0L
I have the above mentioned car. It is due soon for it's first tuneup (it has
89000 miles on it) and I would like to do the work myself. I had priced this
at a few places before starting to think about doing it myself; one shop
told me that you need to remove the cylinder heads in order to change the
spark plugs on this engine. Is this true? If so, it is a job I will leave to
the pros.

NO NO NO NO NO you do NOT have to remove the heads to change the plugs.
You will need however a 6mm allen wrench for the back cylinder on the
passenger side.
It's a tight fit, you may lose a tad bit of skin on your knuckle but this is
an easy thing to do.

Re: 98 Accord V6 3.0L
An engine that required a head removal just to change sparkplugs? What
kind of engineer would come up with something like that? [Okay, maybe
the same one who designed the American M1 Abrams tank...you neeed to
pull the engine out for an oil/filter change...is that true?]
Anyway, any engineer who did come up with sich a design should be sent
to Siberia for 20 years...for gross criminal stupidity. On the next
offense, taken out and shot. ;-)
