Christopher,
If the 'child safety lock' is stuck in the half-way position, use a
folded coat hanger to reach in there and flip it either way so it will
start working again. You might even have to lower the window and get to
the switch by reaching in between the window gaskets. Do this trick
after dark with a good helper to hold the flashlight. Don't yell at
her... she'll just leave.
Very few door panels will come off with the door closed, so try the coat
hanger first.
