95 Civic LCD panel replacement?
My backlight on my LCD display for my stereo/CD controller is out on
my 95 civic. The display still works fine otherwise. But, I have
pulled the display out and found that the display and backlight are
all one unit, so I guess I need to replace the whole thing? Or? Any
ideas where I can find a replacement LCD display? or about how to just
replace the bulb?

Craig,
There are several stereos that fit your '95 Civic. Tell us the model
number that's on the faceplate, ie: 2PU0, or 1507? The number may be
very small.....
That would be helpful.

Craig,
sorry I don't have a 2603 sitting in my pile of stereos. On the ones
with removable bulbs, the lamp socket is just a little round plastic
thing (about 1/4" diameter) with a slot for a screwdriver in the
backside. You turn it 1/4 turn counter-clockwise an it releases. I've
stolen bulbs out of old junk Chrysler stereos and soldered them in
place. The bulb may be hidden under a tinted rubber hood that's blue or
green (orange in CRV).
Let us know if you find your answer.

Re: 95 Civic LCD panel replacement?
I have figured out that the bulbs are soldered, and more importantly
the bulb for the LCD panel is soldered within the plastic housing for
the the display (which is again soldered about 15-20 times to the back
board). Looks like I just need to find a complete LCD module, which
does, however, conveniently plug into the rest of the headset unit...
Any ideas on where to pick one up used?
Thanks again.
