91 Honda EX starting problem
When I start up my car it fires up the first time. If I run an errand
and try to restart it, it will not start. It turns over strong (new
battery) but it's almost like it's not getting fuel or something with
the starter. If I then let it sit for 5 minutes, it will then start up
first time.
Any ideas on this?
This has been going on for about 3 months. I recently had a major
service, timing belt, water pump, tune up, etc. The car has been well
maintained and only has 112,000 miles. I thought the tune up would
solve the problem but it's still there. I didn't mention it at the time
of service because it was very seldom a problem. Now it's almost every
time I try to start the car after shutting down and restarting.
Your help would be appreciated
cheers

bb,
It's your Main Relay, which controls the fuel pump. It gives trouble
when the car warms up under the dash. It needs to be replaced or
resoldered.
Next time this happens, leave the key in position II, and smack the dash
with your fist, on the left side of steering wheel. Car will start, and
run due to the vibration.

If it's the main relay, then the great link will show you how to fix it:
