87 Honda Civic - transmission ?
Help-a friend's dad did some work on the car (including front brakes, new fuel filter, & adjusting the clutch) 2 days later the transmission messed up mid-intersection. It will shift into all gears but just revs when pressing on the gas. Also, if you put it into gear and let off the clutch it will die. Is there anything he might have loosened or disconnected that could cause this? This car had no tranny probs prior to this.

About the only thing you can check is the adjuster at the clutch
housing. It MAY have gotten out of place or adjustment somehow. bob

Cable may have snapped, or slipped off of one of its connections. Check
pedal side and transmission side.

You mentioned that he worked on the clutch but did NOT work on the
transmission. Based on this information--the clutch could be the source of
the problem. I advise you to take it to a transmission shop and have them
fix the problem. It might be a simple case of adjusting something.
