Measure the voltage at the battery as you rev the engine up to a few
thousand RPM. If it ever goes above 15.1 Volts, it means your voltage
regulator (inside the alternator) is broken, not all that uncommon on
rebuilt alternators. I'd wear protective gear while doing the
measurement, battery acid in your face is the last thing you want.

autozone is the worst for alternators. also try to get a mitsubishi one as
opposed to a nippon denso one if you can. i think theyre better built.

Many are those who have learned the hard way that OEM alternators and
starters are the only dependable ones, especially for Hondas. There just
aren't any good rebuilt brands out there. As hondaman and TeGGeR warn,
Autozone is hopeless. And the situation you describe - new alternator and
new battery, but battery still boiling - must be the new alternator running
wild (the internal regulator is fubar). I can't think of anything else to
account for it.
