My wife's 2005 Civic EX 5 speed coupe was EPA 32/38. She gets
25 mpg driving around town (lots of 1st and 2nd) and 35 mpg on the
road at 70+ mph. She drives it agressively !
Her 1997 Civic EX 5 speed coupe was the same way.

If I knew I would have gotten 18, I probably would have bought her a
bigger car, but she has this thing about fuel consumption. I drive a
lincoln town car that has a large V-8 and it gets 18 MPG around town;
and it's 6 years old.
