D-oh... I learned the cause. I called the dealer. The car has the
"Daytime running lights" option. I didn't know that, and it can't be
switched off.

Re: 2005 Pilot headlights
Interesting. Mind asking them and reporting back if they have that
option for the 2005 CRV? Honda claims they don't, and won't.
"DRLs, perhaps? Is this a Canadian-spec car?

Then, I guess they don't have it for the CRV.

Yeah, well, the point being, they don't officially have them for the 2005 Pilot, either...
but your dealer seems to have installed them.

Actually, my dealer didn't install it. The car came from a dealer
about 200 miles away.

Re: 2005 Pilot headlights
Contrary to popular beleif they can be turned on and off. I just bought an
05 Odyssey on Friday 02/25 and the vehicle does not "come" with daytime
running lights (DRL's)... but was told that it could easily and quickly be
turned on (and off) by one of the technicians. I asked if all of the
vehicles were like that, and the sales guy said that all of the vehicles
with keyless entry and/or alarms have the ability, but that they're not all
programmed to.
You might call your dealer/service tech back and ask them again.
