1999 CRV: Does manual shift handle twist off?
Simple question, I hope.
It doesn't seem to want to give in to gentle tugging, and the leather cowl
seems to be latched in a non-twisty way that my eclipse didn't do.
So do I just yank this sucker CCW to take off? (looking down---normal bolt
threads?).

That's what the Haynes says - "Unscrew the shift lever ****." The
accompanying picture shows the top of the shift lever with threads, and also
shows the boot pulling up and off, if you need to do that.

I have haynes, and could not find that part to save my life. I really am
very bad at reading these things.
Thank you.

Glad to help. The Haynes manuals are not very well organized and often leave
out a lot, but that's all I have for this. I found it in Section 7A, part 4.
