driving down the road the car started overheating and then all of the
water poured out from somewhere on the side of the motor. its not the

What used to be called a 'freeze plug'. They are holes in the casting
that are plugged with a steel disc. May have fallen out, or rusted
through. bob

Lotsa stuff around there carrying antifreeze.
The lower rad hose comes up and goes behind the head, where it meets the
thermostat. Then you've got a steeel tube that goes to the water pump. O-
rings seal the lot. Then there are the heater hoses and the little ones to
the EACV/IAC.
Any idea *what* "side" of the motor? Front? Back? Passenger side? Driver
side?

Re: 1995 civic water prob
its coming from the drivers side. it appears to be coming from a pully
or definately somewhere very close to the pully. This is on a friends
car, he says that there is a "plastic piece" on the other side of the
pully that looks melted, any idea what that could be? Possibly the
source???

Water pump leaking?
If the leak is in that area, you'd better get it professionally looked at
ASAP. A failed water pump will wreck lots of very expensive stuff.
