1989 Honda Accord Timing Belt Change issue
Here is the background....
1989 Honda Accord, 2.0 FI SOHC 5 speed, 205K miles.
Timing belt went out while taking off from a red light.
Got the belt changed out; the marks lined up perfectly (so I think)
The Problem:
Car will start and run for about 10 seconds at 3000 RPM and then shut down.
It will do this EVERY time I fire up the car. The engine seems to sound
fine.
Did I miss something in the change??? Here are some thoughts.
- Belt one tooth off
- never touched the balance shaft (never found any data to tell me to)
- wicked vacuum leak
Any help is appreciated
