The process is that if the camera inspection shows even the slightest
bit of damage, the local tech passes the buck on to Honda. He emails
the photos to Honda, who makes the decision on what to send: either an
oil jet kit or a transmission.
If the local tech can see that the transmission matches Honda's
reference photo for "no damage whatsoever," the tech simply puts the oil
jet kit in right then and there. But any damage at all means a wait for
Honda to decide what to do, and Honda sends the part it thinks is needed
to make the repair--be it the jet kit or a new tranny.
