'03 CRV extreme rough idle vibrations
Have an '03 LX 2wd CRV. Just recently I am experiencing rough idle vibrations. This occurs when the car is in gear and foot on break and car is idling. The car shakes prominently and I have brought it to two dealers. Both states that its the characteristic of the car and other CRVs has the same idle vibration. Which I don't believe for one bit.
A couple people suggested to check the following:
spark plugs
vacuum leak
Any other suggestions?
Also if you can post how to check for vacuum leaks I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Elle

I'm not trying to spam this newsgroup but again I want to recommend
www.hondasuv.com to you. I'm sure you will find answers from other CR-V
owners who know the vehicle really well.

Re: '03 CRV extreme rough idle vibrations
This is interesting to me since I am experiencing similar symptoms in
my 03 Accord 4 cyl auto. I find that moving to neutral lessens but
does not eliminate the problem. A slight increase in engine speed
helps a lot. I asked my dealer about it. They checked it out and even
compared it to some other 03's on the lot. They say that it is normal
and that Honda's have more of this vibration than some other cars.
This is my first Honda, so I don't know if that is true, but I am
surprised by the amount of vibration at a stop light.
