Dude you can buy a 2003 Audi convertible THE WHOLE CAR for like 15000 and try modifying THAT. I got my audi for 19,000 and it was only 3 years old.....

You also might want to think long and hard about dumping $15,000 into a $5,000 car. For $15,000 you could buy and completely race prep a Spec Miata car and still have money left for open track time.
