It would be your civic duty to get another as you won't be going anywhere. Check your tensioner.

you may bent some valves. when the timming belt brakes the valves get stuck in the down position. the pistion comes up and hits the valves and bends them; you need to take the car in for repair

Possible valve crash against pistons, holes in piston, damaged head. . Check with dealer and ask if it has a interference engine- Major expense if it is. If the dealer says it is a non-interference engine then you'll basically need a new timing belt installed and timed. The other thing to check is water pump bearings- if they wear and drag the timing belt may be broken- this may be why timing belt broke or came off in the first place. Check/ replace water pump if this is second belt - over 100,000 miles on engine.

A little bit of work putting a new one back on make sure timming marks line up. It would back fire when it falls off the the car would die on the spot. if you have basic auto knowlege you can repair it your self. it looks harder than it is. but the book or download and print. luck.

some motors are called interference motors. the valves will make contact with the pistons when they loose sequence when the timing belt breaks. this info is available on the gates rubber site. if you are real lucky a belt can be installed and you are OK if no damage occurred. if not the cylinder head has to come off to have the valves replaced

It can bend the valves. I know some Honda's have space between the pistons and valves and even if the belt breaks there is enough room that the pistons wont hit the valves. Its hard to tell until you get another belt on it and try starting it. It will be pretty obvious if the valves are bent.
