Problems with 1995 Honda Civic EX?
Ok last year i bought this car, but when i bought it there was a lot of problems. First when i'm driving and i'm goings to stop the pedal goes back and foward and it makes a noice and the ABS pictures comes on, then it stops. Second my battery keeps dying all the times. Then the ex owner had a lot of cables and some of them are burn and one time that i was driving some white smoke was coming out of the front of the car. (But it wasn't the engine). Please help me more about the brakes.

ok, here are some things that might be causing the problem. First I would bleed the brake lines, its pretty simple to do you just need two people, second would be the ABS sensor its probably done, which is why you are getting the light. Find someone that had a error code reader or go to your local auto parts and let them see if you have any error codes.

hi it could be a number of things, either your brake discs and pads are worn to badly, or you brake servo is broke, first of does the car still brake does it still slow you down with out any noise??????
also go out to your car put the key into start the car but don't start it, pump the brake pedal with your right foot about ten times it should get harder and stay hard ie you can't push it anymore, then make sure the car is out of gear and start the car with your foot still on the brake pedal and if the pedal goes way down to the floor your brake servo unit is broke but if the pedal goes down slightly it's fine, get back to me i might be able to help with the rest?

First off is sounds like there is something wrong with your ABS system.. this is the system that controls your brakes so you dont lock them up and skid when its slippery outside. It works by sensing the road speed, deceleration, and the wheel speed and compares them with each other. if it detects that you have locked up a wheel it will back off the brakes and pump them for you MANY times a second.(instead of the old way they used to teach in drivers ed.. it does this for you). In fact that noise you are referring to is the ABS servo pumping the brakes for you... it sounds like a low pitched buzzzzz
The problems with this system could be a few items.. a bad wheel speed sensor, a bad accelerometer (G-meter), or some other malfuction in the unit.. this should only be serviced by a trained technician.
The battery could be worn out.. but sounds like you might have a short circuit under the hood. the thing that confuses me here is that most of that stuff under there is fused either with a fuse, or a fuesable link.. unless the old owner did some custom midnight wiring.. it could be that he did and went straight to the batt, and didnt fuse it.. if there we a short, it would burn wires, if it wasn't a dead short it could be putting a drain the battery..
if you are not handy though, i would take it in to a reputable auto electric place..
