...door, is this normal??? The driver door lock does not go down when you use the inside lock switch. To lock the drivers door you need to use the key. Is this normal for cars without keyless entry??

I believe its normal, a friend of mine had a Jetta that did the same thing. I think its a "safety precaution" to help you to not lock your keys in the car. Usually things like this can be turned off with a certain order or number of key cycles (turning the key on and off.) Check the owner's manual if you can find it, if there was a way to turn that option off, it would be in there.
I did stumble across this site that says if you pull the interior door handle open, like you were getting out of the car, and then lock it with the power doorlock, it should not pop back up again.

Hi Does not sound right to me.How do your secure yourself to curb entry of bad people from outside? When you operate the door switch inside ,those locks should close all doors.I would mention this to person you bought the car from.Good Luck.
