...to colorado? I had it checked out by the mechanic, said to be in great shape, sounds good, body and interior are in good condition. Engine too supposedly, replaced the axles, tuned up, oil changed etc. Driving around Chicago with zero problems. BUT as I was loaded up ready to depart yesterday smoke started pouring out the hood, the heat shot up...seems like a coolant hose busted...a mile from my house. GOt towed to the mechanic, who is replacing the hoses. This is my first OLD car. (40mpg!) Shall I still make the drive? Is it foolish to expect a 16 year old car to make it across the country? I love the car, and want to do this, but don't want to be stuck with a lump of metal in the middle of nebraska.
