Honda civic gator connector?

Honda civic gator connector?
Hi all, I just bought a new gear **** for my honda civic sport 2004. For those who arent aware its the civic hatchback with the gearstick petruding from the dash. The **** fits on but unfortunately doesn't connect to the rubber gaitor and whenever I shift gears, the gaitor either pushes to one side going completely off center. For those who have a honda civic like mine, do you know where I can get the connector or has anyone even tried to change the gearknob on this model?
PLEASE only answer if you have a solution, i've been getting a lot of ridiculous answers to my questions lately.
Thanks =)

BIG D- thanks for the answer, but i don't have the SI. I know what model my car is and it's a sport. They don't even sell the si in this country. but thanks!

First of all congratulations you have a civic SI ( not a sport) or AKA EP3. There are various options that you can go down.
1. You can take the whole boot off and have a big hole in your dash( not recommended)
2. You can purchase a JDM version of the shift boot, which will make the boot and **** two separate pieces with very little distance between the two.
3. Go To ephatch.com, which is a site specifically for your car, and look for a do it yourself to use the silver part from the factory **** and the black part that connects to it on the back side of the shift boot.
The first is the cheapest, the second looks the best but with the most cost, and the third is the cheapest with the best turn out
