Can I safely remove the side moldings from my 2001 Honda Civic sedan?

Is the molding fastened with just tape or is it bolted on?

It is kept in place by plastic sleeve like clamps...you can break these if you are not careful. Do you not like the black color of the molding or has it been damaged? The Civic will be very unattractive without the molding in place, there is a slight groove or inset into the body/door(s) of the car to allow the molding to look good.

The molding is there to help with parking lot dings from other car doors...by removing the molding you are exposing your vehicle to possible damage from careless drivers.

Best of luck...I hope I was of some help.
