Can dealers make a used car certified when you purchase the car?
I'am looking to buy a used 2006 civic si with navigation. I found 2 places. One place has 12K miles, with fog lights, navigation and is honda certified for 100K powertrain warranty and they want $20K for the car. Another place has 7K miles, fog lights, navigatiaon, and the honda body kit, however no extended warranty, and they want $22K for the car. Both places are from HONDA dealers. If a person or dealer wants to make a sale, can they make the car certified and give me the 100K powertrain warranty or not? I was told, it can only be sold as certified used honda car, if the car, was leased or purchased from that dealer, is this true? Also, how is the ride quality on this car compared to the EX model? And having this body kit from honda, when you hit pot holes or things or that nature, can the front bumper actually bend and break? Or do you really have to smash a huge enormous pot hole. Thank a lot. Do these prices sound 2 overpriced, I mean its already 2008

Many Car dealers and manufactures will certify used vehicles and give an extended warranty. They are usually low mileage cars and not more then a couple of years old. The dealer looks at its maintenance records and does a inspection to determine if it qualifies to be certified. I bought a used 2000 Chrysler 300M that came with a longer warranty then the new cars had.
