'06 Civic - odd sound?

I have a 2006 Civic with 30K miles on it - so I'm getting my brakes done this week. For the last several days I've noticed this odd metallic sound, which occurs sporadically at highway speeds (for maybe 10-15 seconds at a time) and is often caused when I hit a bump. It sounds like like two metal pieces rubbing together. it's only in the drivers side front area. I'm thinking either my brake pad is totally worn and it's the rotor, maybe something is loose, or else it's the suspension. It's not affecting the handling or anything. Any ideas?I posted this over in the Maintenance and Repairs section before, hoping to get additional answers posting in this section
