depending on wut your aiming for, like just a motor swap or if ur actually trying to build a race motor. ud have to look different ways. motor swaps are usually just grabbing the motor and depending on wut uve come from like SOHC to a DOCH u also gotta buy the tranny and , so the motor would be more complete, but if ur replacing the motor with usuable part u would jsut get like a longblock assembly. if ur trying to build a race motor its alot easier to buy the parts all individually like bottom end, head, trans, all that seperately so u can modify the internals without taking apart the whole motor. my motor/head combo was bought through private sales of different parts since i built the motor as i went along. if u want jsut a motor go to tiger japanese or sumthing but if u wana build a race mototr go thru these forums and pick out parts u need and put it together like a puzzle. and a motor should never blow up. u should always inspect thigns like seals gaskets, see if the oil is burnt, little thigns u can inspect to give u a glimpse into the functioning of the motor.
