What tires do you recommend for a 2000 Honda Civic Ex Coupe?

What tires do you recommend for a 2000 Honda Civic Ex Coupe?
I live near Los Angeles so I will be in traffic. It's a manual. How much do you think I should pay for tires too?
My mechanic wants to put kelly charge good years on for 81dollars each ($421 final cost)
Can't I get decent tires for less than that? I mean not cheap tires but still good?
I just spoke with my mechanic and I got him to go down to $76 per tire...total out the door is $397. but i'm considering going somewhere else like Firestone...feedback still appreciated
Final Price: I got Kelly Chargers from Goodyear put on for a final price of $376 out the door. I'm happy...
