Honda Tune Questions .

94 civic coupe has a jap ZC sohc 16 valve motor swap..The under hood sticker says 16 deg base timing , which turns out to 22 degrees at idle and 44 deg max advance. This car is pretty strong for a civic. Fails etest for nox other tests are very good.
Compared to a stock civic we have on the lot . ( stock) timing at idle is 12 deg, max timing is 24-26 deg.
I,m thinking that this car has chipped /burnt computer , that the advance and fuel curves have been modded.
Do you think the timing and fuel curves have been advanced and leaned out a little to far??.
I,m thinking to set max timing to 26 deg and retest it .
What is the base timing spec for a zc and do you know what the max and idle timing specs would be , Thanks..77.
Has a air intake with k/n , plugs cap rotor and cat all new .
Failed nox by 800 points , new cat got it to 350 points over limit.

We ended up putting in a used , stock computer , and also put in a new 0h2. The old oh2 seemed to work fine but wanted that little extra help. Set timing at 10 deg, which made max adv like 26 deg advanced . Passed e test no probs , but car was slower with replacement computor .
Put orig computer back in , power came back and customer is happy. thanks..77.
