there is less aftermarket support for the H-series engines.

Either engine boosted can handle 300whp.

I personally like b20vtecs, especially boosted ones. I've done several in the past that make just under 300whp on 8-9psi.

Stock for stock the b20vtec will make a little less torque than the h22 and about the same horsepower if not a little bit more, but is a much easier swap to do, and easier to maintain once in your car. The h22 is such a tight fit maintainance (like a timing belt/water pump, or clutch, or brake master cylinder) is much harder to perform.
B-series parts are EVERYWHERE and can be found for pretty cheap.

a b20vtec swap would be prolly around $3500-4000 depending on what parts are used. Less if you wanna use stock engine mounts, no Golden Eagle B20vtec conversion kit, stuff like that.

a decent boosted setup will run you around $3000-4000 using quality new parts. You can buy used parts, but i'd stay away from the no-name or "ebay" parts like ssautocrome, xspower, jdmsport or other cheap turbo stuff.

Is the myth true about the walls being really weak on a b20vtec? Ive seen good and bad answers.

Stock or N/A motor...

**G2B cheaper and more power***

-F23 block from 98-02 Accord $400 or less. F23 block is much stronger than B20 or H22A, stock can handle more boost.
-H22A head $400 Or less
-B16 tranny with H/F adapter or just go with H or F tranny.

-If you have more money to put on the motor, add K20 pistons for the F23 they fit and more higher compression for All motor setup.

Stock G23 motor setup have over 200 horse power and more torque than K24.

pretty sure b20 is the exact same as a b18 with slightly more piston travel, the cylinder walls are pretty much the same.

if you wanna make corners and not go in a straight line, definately b20 with a vtec head and a turbo. H22 is common draggster motor, can do the quarter mile mad fast but good luck on the circuit.

I have to agree with kyle... the B20's are notorious for their weak sleeves,
so unless you wanna dump money on aftermarket sleeves, go with an LSVTEC
