Is this a good deal for a fully built B18C block?

Hi guys,

I know an engine builder who is offering me a brand new block with all of the following:

- DART closed deck B18 block
- Eagle 900hp H-Beam Rods
- JE Forged Pistons
- Brand New Forged Lightweight Counter-Balanced Crankshaft
- Moroso Oil Pan
- Moroso Oil Pickup
- Acl Bearings
- New Gaskets and Seals
- OEM oil pump
- ARP headstuds

This block is already assembled, balanced, and blueprinted. He wants $4500.

There is also a full 2 year warranty on the block.

I figure it beats buying a crappy used engine, which you can never be sure of the mileage anyways. Plus this comes with a warranty, and this already saves me the trouble of having to purchase parts on my own and paying someone to properly assemble them later down the road.

For $4500 it seems like a good deal, but what are your thoughts guys?

What is the car used for? Used engine? Gee, I suspect you could buy 10 used engines for the same price.

The car is a summer/track car. 80% time attack, 20% drag.

And the block is 100% BRAND NEW, thought I posted that. Nothing is used at all. Not the block casting, not the crankshaft, not the oil pump, etc.

I wouldn't say it's a deal. $4500 is a lot of money. But it's definitely one hell of a block. It wold be sick to see you boost the car with a block like that.
