you cannot purchase it personally it has to be handled by a certified airconditioning tech. If the system is dead take it in for an ac inspection to determine any leaks or mishaps.

First of all, it CANT be purchased nor handled by anybody.
Second of all, i am HVAC certified.
Third of all, if there was anything wrong with my ac that i couldnt handle personally, i'd make a thread asking how to solve the problem.
Thanks for your input!

you can't get R12, you gotta convert to R134a. they actually sell the kits seal/fitting and refill kits at partsource but if you don't know what you're doing don't do it yourself

Anyone have experience/heard anything about RedTek products?...Supposedly they have a replacement for R12, with an additive to help the various seals in the system........

heres their site: RED TEK 12a refrigerant, envirosafe freon replacement, red tek hydrocarbon refrigerants, 12a, 22a, 502a...pretty sure CarQuest carries their products...
