cracked manifold

i have a 1996 DX (d16y7)

anyone have any idea what problems a cracked exhaust manifold can cause.

Im getting a check engine light for both o2 sensors...

i guess im asking should i replace the o2 sensors and the manifold... or will changing the manifold solve the problem

you need the o2 sensors, o2 sensors are supposed to be replaced every 50xxxkm but people neglect it because its a costly job

^ True. I think my Contour has 5 O2 sensors in it. One before each of the precats, one after each of the precats, one precat per bank for a total of two precats and one after the main catalytic converter, for a total of 5.

For the price of all 5 sensors I bet I could get another Contour!

well today i got the crack welded... pls ppl dont tell me that it wont hold up ... i already know that it isnt as good as getting a new manifold... but honda charges an arm and a leg for these manifolds... even standard auto wreckers charges 260...

i tried to make the weld job as good as possible... sanded it.. heated with a blow torch until red, and then welded... it looks clean and there doesnt seem to be any air leaking... now i gotta go buy 2 new o2 sensors...

does anyone know if the o2 sensors are different... meaning is the top sensor different from the bottom one...
