civic hybrids vs civic 4cyl?
#2
the short answer is no, not until it hits 110,000 miles considing the gas is 3.00 a gallion, newsday just did a chartbut if it makes you feel better that you are saving the world, or that you get to drive in the HOV lane, a huge plus on Long Island, where I live, then hell yea. Plus chicks dig it, it is hard for me to belive it consideing that I am 36 and women that I grew up with like fast car that got bad gas mileage, but now they like the guy who thinks about the world

I'm on my 3rd Civic, and this one's a hybrid.Overall, money wise, I think it's a wash. The GREAT thing about the hybrid, though, is the gas usage meter. It shows you your mileage all the time, so you can see how your driving affects mileage.I have changed the way I drive ALL my vehicles because of this, so I am saving money not just on the hybrid, but on my pickup truck (used to haul horse trailer) and minivan (used to haul kids). It's almost worth buying the hybrid for the driving instruction that the mileage meter provides.BTW, I commute an hour each way to work, and average 40 mpg. It's a little better in city driving, well into the 40's, but I live in the country. I have 104K miles on my 2003 hybrid, and it's still going strong. I'm planning on passing it down to my daughters when they learn to drive - starting next year - so they can learn how not to waste gas.Hope that helps.
