Automatic Transmission

I'm curious if the automatic transmission that came with the D16Y7 will handle the B18B (142Hp Integra)?

Midnight Racer street rep is low. keep going
First of all a D series transmission does not bolt onto a B series engine, you need to get a b series transmission.

I doubt there is a auto tranny for the B18 motor. Even if there is, why would you want it? You'll lose 40 hp just to run the tranny. Waste of time.

Well you can learn two things today.

1. There IS an auto tranny for the B18 motor otherwise where would all the integras get their automatics from? GM?

2. You lose about 25% to the wheels with a lower powered car and an auto tranny (vs 12 ish % with a stick). So out of a 142hp you would still get about 107 to the wheels vs the D16 which starts with 106 and would end with about 80.

The car currently has an auto, and my wife would be driving it therefore I'd stick with auto for this application.
