2003 Honda Civic 1.7 CDTi

I'm looking to buy a 2003 Honda Civic 1.7 CDTi after owning a number of honda civics but I have some questions I can find no answers to some questions online

(1) does it have a timing belt or a timing chain?

(2) is it worth buying with 97,000 miles on the clock for €4,000?

(3) any reports (good or bad) about this diesel engine?

THANKS

There are too many variables involved in body work to give you an accurate number without seeing the vehicle. The best thing you can do is go to a few shops and get some estimates. Nobody on this site is going to be able to give you a number without actually seeing the car.
