if a honda prelude has 124000k's on the clock what is the anticipated length

What year honda prelude? Dude no shitt the car will last you for fukkkkkkking ever. If you just bought the car or are thinking about buying the car I would pick it up if the price is right then just change the timing belt (very important), all the fluids, maybe the spark plugs, and you should be pretty good to go for a while. Oh also reccomended I would do a compression check on the motor if all cylinders are pretty even I don't see why the motor shouldn't last you well into 200k.

The H22 series will easily go 250k + as long as the basic are maintained. Use a quality oil (synthetic or high mileage) change the plugs and wires, Fuel filter, timing belt, have a fuel system service performed, most lube centers can clean it out for about 50$. Basically a good tune up will have it running forever. I do alot of honda builds for a hobby and they are everything but bulletproof. I can't even begin to tell ya how many times I see em totally neglected and running pretty good even with 250k+, even more. I have 2 motors waiting for rebuild, One with 210k and one with 305k. Both running great with good compression. I've been in the auto business a long time and the highest I've seen was 764k on a 92' prelude with just routine maintence, That was a couple years ago and I still see the car around town. Definantly a keeper.
