Personally, Toyota's and Honda's have a wonderful reputation. Not such a big fan of American made. Read this article:

Honda is definitely a smarter buy, especially from a reliability standpoint. Just look at the consumer reports. We used to buy nothing but Chevrolet, but after our first Honda, A 1999 Accord EX-V6 (that we still have with 160,000 miles, with hardly any money spent for maintenance and repair) we buy nothing but Honda. All you have to do is take care of them and they won't disappoint you.

First, what do you care what your ex thinks anyway? Second, as the owner of 3 Fords over the years and now a Honda, I can say from my experience that Hondas have better build quality and much better reliability in the long run. You made the right choice.

Honda
Definately Honda.
American made are the worst, and if you buy a brand new ford, the price automatically goes down, for the Hondas and Toyotas, you can resell it for the same or a very close price, also less headache, because they don't need to get fixed everyday, and fuel efficient. It takes $100 to fill up a ford, $50 to fill up a honda.
