Hondas like any old car tend to overheat. You should flush( and also chemical flush) the cooling system. Trust me, I've seen many cars overheating, including mine( Toyota corolla 1990- 160000miles)My reccomendation, service all the fluids( engine oil, transmission fluid, differential oil, coolong system water + coolant/antifreeze)DO no use tap water!!! to fill up the radiator. I cannot stress that enough. It will build up lime and scale and rust in the radiator and INSIDE THE ENGINE. Radiator is easy( but more expensive) to change. But the engine can only be chemically flushed( several times) You can buy distilled water. Costs 3 bucks to fill it.I also chang the brake fluid( change, not top off).I use dot 5 fluid( exceeding the recommendations for my car). costs a little more(2 dollars more) but changing brake pumps and master cilinder is more expensive. The only thing protecting your car from premature breakdown are the fluids you replace. Skimp on those and you will be seeing your mechanic more often than you should.
