There is no simple answer to this question. It really depends on what you want to end up with and what you want to spend. You can do the basics AKA I/H/E or intake, header(s), exhaust. They will all allow the car to breathe better and since engines are just air pumps, that's what you're looking for. These are only going to add a few horsepower at best. To get significant increases you will need to go with forced induction (ie. turbo or supercharger) or build the engine to have more displacement or a higher compression ratio, the latter will require higher octane gasoline. In your case the first things I would do would be to get an intake or at least a nice drop in filter and think about some headers since I believe you have two catalytic converters that you can get rid of some of the restriction. I DO NOT condone de-catting the entire system. I have an Integra GSR and I still have a high flow cat.BTW, I hear that some vinyl stickers, ESP yellow ones, will help tremendously!

Ok so you have a v6. First thing to think about is that you already have a 200Hp car. since most accords dont even weigh 3000Lbs, any moderate modification that you make will be definitely felt. What I did on my 97 accord v6 is: APC cold air intake,(works great when temp is cold) Short shifter (Let's me shift faster). 19" konig trouble rims (help me handle and accelerate better). Venom performance chip (adjusts the fuel to air ratio) bad on gas when on lol. and last but not least new gaskets and headers. Now I am planing to add a nos kit. Nos kits cost from 500-1000 dollars and are not for stock cars. the extra pressure and heat can blow your gaskets right out of your car's hood. You have to buy new gaskets and headers to make sure pressure wont burst the engine. Now all the performance things including nos would give you maybe 70 hp at best for 10 seconds that you can run nos. Also you can upgrade the clutch and definitely gears. If you add more than 100 hp to the stock gears, they will break._________________________________________Now I still have to say 4wd subaru wrx will kill any fwd honda that does not have at least 250 hp. My brother has a 2003 Subaru wrx (non Sti). It makes about 230 hp. My car has 240 and although he has less power, he outperforms me in 0-60. not by much tho. he has better traction in summer and he drives it in winter like nothing. (My car is useless in winter) lol. But it is a chick magnet during summer. ________________________________________Like many people suggested. Do not buy cheap parts. They will break. Cheap turbos dammage engines. Be smart about what you buy and also think about if you are dammaging it's resale value. If you are then dont add that part. ___________________________________________My best wishes to you and your car.
