Did the 1990-1993 Honda Accord come with a v-tec motor?

Did the 1990-1993 Honda Accord come with a v-tec motor?
Mine has a 2.2 in it, but my friend told me this body style also came in a vtec, but cant find anything that says hes right, the reason I ask is cause im changing the motor anyways cause the heads shot. Please help
I know I could just change the head but the other motor has bout 50,000 miles less plus mine was overheated bout 8-10 months everytime driving till it was pretty much shot, than I bought it for $500. My friends a real mechanic so hes changing it for $200 and $200 for the motor. I seen it as my best bet
