2004 Honda accord, already an oil leak!?
I was told today by the shop that did an oil change on my 2004 Honda Accord V6 MT that the rear main seal has developed a "minor" leak. I trust them on this because they can't do that kind of repair and thus can't have any ulterior motive for telling me this. This is unacceptable, my car only has 60,000 miles on it! Do you think Honda might cover it outside of warranty given that its so new and early in its life, or do I just need to deal with it a pay out of pocket? if so, should I bother fixing it asap or wait? Thanks.

if it just a minor leak dont waste good money on $75 an hour mechanics. The small oil that leaks does no harm to the engine. You can get a can of oile additive that stops engine leaks and pour in the oild also. This sometime takes care of it.

check your warranty and do get it fixed....we dont want your oil all over our roads and parkinglots and I am sure you don't want oil all over the underside of your car and your engine and transmission. It just makes a mess.
