1990 Honda accord cut off and will not start!?

Hello, I have a 1990 honda accord about a month ago the car cut off and I got a new battery because the battery I had was no good, and today as I was driving the car started stalling and then it cut off. The lights went a little dim, but the dashboard lights were strong and the heat and radio worked. I know that the oil light was on before it cut off could that be the problem? Also I can hear a noise as if the car is trying a turn over but its not coming on its not like a screaming noise its just a slight noise. I also wanted to know if it could be that I need a tune up, the car has over 220,000 miles on it.

id start with cleanning the battery cable ends and work back could be a charging thing have you tried to jump start it if it runs after that id go and have it check

Check your battery and alternator. Could very likely also be a fuel pump, or a fuel line problem.

very simple problem i had the same thing happen to me with my honda. it is your ignition switch. try this, turn your key to start the motor but instead of letting go of the key when it turns back hold it in the running position, the motor should keep running if it does it is the ignition switch. be careful not to hold it in the position you have it in when the starter is ingaged you dont want to damage your starter. that switch is not hard to replace for a do it your selfer. email me if you have any questions marcusandfeliciadrake@yahoo.com
