New from the Seattle area!

Just wanted to introduce myself as a new member of the site. Although my join date might say otherwise, it was only yesterday that I added any photos or info about myself and my car. I'm a 39 year old Chevy-Man to the core, as you will see from my most recent photo. The description under the photo cut me off, so I'll finish my explanation here.

As a sophomore in high school (1982), I got my first car, which was a 66 Chevelle 350/TH350 w/a 3800 TCI Stall converter, and a 4.11 12 bolt posi. My older step brother had purchased a 66 Ford fairlane XL500 with a 351 Cleavland just a year before, so needless to say, the whole Chevy vs. Ford was already written in stone for us. Long story short, he's owned nothing but Fords (Mustangs) and I've had my Chevy's (4 Chevelles, 2 Novas, and 10 Camaros)

I guess I'll end this Introduction with a little honesty! This has been a very harsh year for me, as I'm getting ready to turn 40. Now 40 might not seem that old to some, but I've actually been out on my own since I was 14, and in the last 17 years, I've been in 10 car accidents. In the last 7, I've had 5 Surgeries, and I've had dentures since I was 22. My hair is just now starting to turn grey, and I honestly consider this to be my mid-life crisis!

So what do a lot of guys do when this happens? That's right, they buy a new car. Yeah right, as if I can afford a new car. Well,...it might not be new as in 2006, but with only 18K on it, and garaged it's whole life by the original owner,.....I consider it to be a new car. So this is actually my first 4th Gen. Camaro, and I get more and more excited about it everyday I drive it. While I'm still old school, I finally understand what everyone has been bragging about.

Sorry about the long intro guys, I guess I've just been looking for someplace to turn where I can talk cars again.

Later ~

Welcome to ProjectCamaro.com, I saw you posting images in the gallery and was hoping you would say high.
Anyways I understand you completely. I'm love my FBodies but my family isn't quite on the same page. On my mom's side of the family absolutly every single male has owned a Mustang, my dad even own's one now. In fact I bought my last Z28 at a Ford dealership. I let my dad take my car for a drive and I think he's been sold on GM muscle. He couldn't believe the difference the extra cubic inches in my LS1 made over his motor.

Well guy's, I appreciate the warm welcome... and as it's getting to be that time, I must log off for the night. But, for a quick summary of what Chevy's have graced my presence, we'll go ahead and start with the 66 Chevelle in my original post. I guess the reason for that car, was in part because I was born in 66, therefore I loved every Chevy made that year. The Vette, the Nova, the Chevelle, and the fact they were building the Camaro in 66. The second reason is because my uncle built and raced that car for years, so I fell in love with it long before I ever thought I would own it.

The one car that changed my life though,....in 6th grade, my older brother-in-law picked me up from school in his 69 SS Camaro. When he started bangin gears and throwing me back in the seat from side to side,.....I was a lifer from that point on! Well, at this rate I'll never get to bed, so I'll list the Chevy's that I've had, and fill in the details another time.

Unfortunately, no current street rods!

1966 Chevelle 350/TH350

1967 Camaro Coupe 327/TH350

1971 Chevelle 350 TH350

1966 Nova 2 Dr Post ~ 327/TH350 ~ 10 Bolt 4.11 Posi

1969 Chevelle SS396 / M22 RockCrusher 4sp ~ 12 Bolt 3.37 Posi ~ SS Magnum 500 Rims (PLEASE do not ask me why I ever got rid of it)...OK, I was young and "DUMB", and had no idea what it would be worth today. :banghead:

1987 Camaro IROC TPI350/700R4

1976 Chev Shortbed 4X4 ~ Lifted 12" w/ 40" Gumbo Monster Mudders, 350/4sp

1973 Camaro Z28 Clone 350/TH350 B&M 3500 Stall converter, 10 Bolt 3.55 Posi (back-fired, caught on fire, and burnt to the ground)

1967 Camaro Cp. 350/TH400 (Totaled) T-Boned

1969 Chevelle 406 BBC ~ 12.5:1 Manleys, TH/400 w/a Continental 4500 Stall, Ladder bar set-up, 8 Point Cage, 12 Bolt welded up w/ 4.56 gears. Strange Axles, Best 1/4 ET. 11.80 @ 117.xx

1976 Chev Shortbed Lowered ~ 396/TH400 (Grey Primer)

1979 Camaro Cp. 307/TH350

1967 Camaro Track car ~ 468ci Full Roller - AFR Aluminum Heads, 13.0:1 Compression, Caged, Built TH400/4000 Stall, Ford 9 inch w/ 4.88's, Best 1/4 ET. 10.72 @ 121.xx ~ No Juice (Sold to buy Nova)

1967 Nova Super Sport ~ Restored in Canada for 4 years and $20,000.00 ~ Exact Specs with the exception of a TPI350 out of a 91 Vette. Back in 2000 this was the big Showcar Craze. I paid $10,000.00 cash + my 87 IROC for it, which was worth $4500.00. ~ I lost this one because,...I'll just say,...I now have 3 years Clean and Sober! We'll leave it at that.

1973 Z28 Camaro Edelbrock Aluminum head 350/TH350 TCI 3800 Stall, 3" Steel Cowl hood, Yellow w/blk stripes and matching interior.

1978 Chev Longbed 4X4, 454/4sp

1987 Camaro IROC-Z TPI350/700R4 I rear ended a guy at 40 MPH Wasted both vehicles

1991 Camaro RS 305/700R4 (just sold)

1996 Camaro Z28 LT1350/4L60E (Currently Own)
1988 Pontiac Fiero GT ~ V6 5sp (Currently Own)

This list doesn't include the 4 Mazda RX-7's, the other 2 85 Fieros, a 85 Toyota MR2, 89 Honda CRX, and a few during my dazed and confused years. And to think I owned all these cars without ever owning a dealers license. But I did work for a Towing Co. that had auctions every Fri.

One thing I've been trying to get done, is put all my old pictures onto a disc, so I can get them uploaded. That way I can show you some of my baby's!

Gotta go for now Guy's,

Later ~

Thanks again guy's,

I CAN tell you for the most part it's been a blast! As with anyone's story, there are always those segments we wish to forget, or just not talk about. I don't think going down that path of "Lows" I've been on, will be of any benefit to this group. I'm just "THANKFUL" I had the opportunity to own the list of cars I've had,....although I believe, if not for the time I grew up,....This would have never happened!

A lot of those cars on that list, were bought for around $2500.00,... some were more like $3500.00 ~ with the exception of the 67 Nova SS and the 67 Camaro Race car. I can tell you one thing,... I sure had fun building them up into what they were before I sold them,...which was how I came to a point where I could buy a car like the SS Nova. Find a good deal on a car, fix it up, and double your money!

Unfortunately, we live in a time now where you can't even find a running 67 camaro for less than 10-15K,.....and that all depends on what condition it's in. If it's in real good condition, you can't hardly touch one for less than $25,000.00

As far as not having owned a Vette yet,....There were many times I was right there almost ready to give in a get one,....and at the last minute, I had to talk myself out of it. I swore I would never buy a car on payments, and for me,...the only ones I cared for back then, were the 67 and prior. Thankfully I've come to my senses and realized the beauty in the whole line of Vettes out there,....especially the new C6! I was even ready to buy a Black 81 Vette, when I came across my 96 Z28. I'm sure glad I changed my mind!

Well, I can't guarantee anything,....but I'm gonna say there's a pretty good chance I'll own a Vette before my time is up! ......What year? .....Only time will tell.

Later guys ~
