Winter Car Care
#6
Its gonna rust from salt no matter what... thats what sucks about driving your car in the winter.
Most likely your underbody should be the only place to rust. Ive driven mine through 2 winters that I know of and the only rust is underneath.
How often should you wash it? Everytime you drive on the winter roads if you want to keep the salt off. Seriously it sucks, and you wont avoid it unless you dont drive your car.

wash it weekly, I have driven cars for many winters with no rust (most roads don't have much salt especially after the temps get really cold since salt is useless then) your under carriage will rust from the moisture in the air, make sure and wash the under carriage also. I have also seen cars that rust bad in storage (I had a cutlass that the frame rusted out and it never saw rain or winter roads, but was stored in an unheated garage with concrete floors)

Thanks.yeah thereisnoway i can avoid driving it. its only 3 miles to work so its not to bad. and they have a car wash in the gas station next door so i could prolly get a discount. but i got a lot of work to do on my car before winter hits.
